Pakistan is not the only place where humanity is insulted on a daily basis but I live here & so I get to know the views of people. Even in this particular case, many people are just blaming the victim. They only focus on her profession & career. It also reminded me of how people were questioning the innocence of Muneeb & Mugheez. People die & people get raped & murdered, but we always have elevated apes who just go on judging the victims.
Rape is a crime. Even if a slut gets raped, you don’t have the right to justify the heinous nature of the crime. How can you say that it’s okay if a sex worker is raped, but it’s a different story if any other girl is raped? In any case, even when a girl from a noble family is just harassed, there is no one on her side. People only find reasons to justify an evil act. That’s all I have seen over the years. And what makes it all the more sickening is the fact that we have women who hold such obnoxious views about victims.
I think in 1996, Andaleeb’s boyfriend threw acid on her face. She was a Pakistani actress. I don’t know what happened to her, but when I mentioned this ugly incident to a couple of females, they just blurted out that actresses deserve this kind of treatment. Things aren’t any different even today.
I don’t believe that women like to create myths about themselves. I don’t think any woman will tell you that she has been molested or harassed or even raped at some point unless there is some truth in it. Moreover, rape is an act of terrorism. No one has the right to insult you or your body.
I’m aghast to hear the views of educated men & women. They just have no compassion. If a person commits suicide, they judge his faith. If a slut is raped, they give justification that she was carrying a gun & it might have happened with her consent. Even if a really naïve girl is raped, they start finding faults in her character. Every time it’s the female who provokes. Nobody sides with the victim. God forbid but are you going to presume the same thing if your own daughter or loved one gets raped in this manner?
Very conveniently people use the word whore for women, if you don’t like their lifestyle. The concept of fallen women is well accepted by both men & women, but at the same time, there is no concept of fallen men. I don’t think women do everything all by themselves; they need partners. But there is just no fucking word for those men.
I’m so sick & tired of hearing this phrase ‘ghar ki izzat.’ The fact is…larki ki koi izzat nahin hoti. If she’s married to someone, then people respect her. If the father is a big shot, then people respect her.
Even people will hate me for having these views. In any case, I don’t give a flying fuck to it. Frankly speaking, I don’t even care anymore if slaves read me, cause my writings are not for the usual minds. Reading is one thing, but understanding what’s being said explicitly & what’s not being said is another thing.
